Enable or Disable Windows Firewall permanently

Windows Defender is an anti-virus that is included in your Windows 10 already. It is quite useful when it comes to protecting your PC from basic threats. It includes Real-time Protection and Cloud-based Protection as well. It also acts as a strong resistance to Spywares, However, when it comes to protection, not every file that is marked a threat by this is worth deleting. So there are times when you want to preserve some files that may or may not be harmful for your system. You can always exclude files and folders for that, but if you get the threat pop-up too often, you can just disable the Windows Defender permanently by following our guide. What we're doing is, using registry files to alter the permissions of Windows Defender to turn it off or on permanently.

So let's begin.

Step 1:

First and foremost, start the Windows Defender. Then click on Settings and a new window will pop-up.

Step 2:

Now turn off the Real-time based protection and Cloud-based protection as shown in the image below. Then close the window along with the Windows Defender.

Step 3:

Download the Registry files from the links given below. To turn off the Windows Defender, double-click on the turn off registry file. Run it, then click on yes. Click on OK and you're done. Now when you try to start the Windows Defender again, you'll get the error shown below. If you do, you're done.

In case you want to turn on the Windows Defender again, simply repeat Step 3 with the Turn On registry file.
